The new footbridge in the La Défense district of Paris had to provide a connection between the grand plaza “Grande Arche” and the newly built high‐rise development in Nanterre, “Le Granite”. Together with the architects DFA, Dietmar Feichtinger‐Architectes, Paris, and with the support of the client, EPASA, the ambitious, technically advanced bridge design was constructed and tailored to the specific urban conditions of the site. The cover shows the 90 m long curved steel structure running close and parallel to the façade of the Société Générale building (see pp. 95–103).
