Alteration of the water balance of lakes
Two cases of alteration of the water balance of lakes are discussed, these are: (i) alteration of the hydrological cycle due to changes in the lake basin; and (ii) alteration of the hydrological cycle due to changes in the amount of evaporation from the lake surface. In both cases, the technical aspects that result from these changes are briefly discussed, as well as the use of methods for the chemical reduction of lake evaporation.
