Adsorption from Molecular to Process Scale – Where Intensification Meets Integration
Biopharmaceutical processes are complex in almost every aspect, they are not well understood, and so far they have not seen much integration, far less intensification. Adsorption plays a key role for handling, purifying, and processing of such complex systems. The current modular approach to a bioprocess chain needs integration and also more consideration of sustainability aspects. Integrated processes are a prerequisite for the supply of patients all over the world with high quality, innovative, and affordable therapeutics, also allowing stratified medicine approaches.
