Identity is a mirror that reflects the different cultural and social factors that shape the reader as human beings. Today, identity is filled with new risks and potentials that come along with role‐playing. The Japanese photographer shot myriads of self‐portraits to reflect on women's identity and racial characterization. In particular the series of artificial intelligence (AI)‐generated portraits reflects on the effects of contemporary aesthetic judgments on female self‐worth, and how media stereotypes connect aesthetic pleasure of cuteness with violence. The AI images are rooted in a cute Japanese cartoon style per text input. While it's impossible to fully eliminate human bias from human‐made tools, it's important to question if AI‐generated images might end up reinforcing a dominant culture while they simultaneously produce speculative visualizations.
