Development of Iron and Manganese Bacteria in Ranney Wells
This article presents results of an investigation involving bacterioflora that influence the creation of ochre, or iron ore, in the Ranney wells in Belgrade, Yugoslavia. The qualitative and quantitative relations of the bacteria are discussed in relation to the physicalchemical characteristics of the water, specific yield, seasonal Variation, and other parameters.
