Lajuana S. Wilcher was sworn in on Oct. 30, 1990, as US Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) assistant administrator for water. Wilcher worked as an attorney with the agency from 1983 to 1986 and was a partner specializing in environmental law with a Washington, D.C., law firm at the time she was selected to head the USEPA Office of Water.
