Total Coliform Rule Brain Teaser
This brain teaser deals with a hypothetical situation where a small public water system (one that is normally required to only assay one routine total coliform sample during a month) will have to assay five samples in one month's time. The five samples can be either one routine and four repeat samples or five routine samples and no repeats. Two possibilities for this situation occuring are presented, and the reader is challenged to find an explanation for this. The answer is provided, turned upside down at the bottom of the same page.
