Detailed here is an investigation of alum recovery from treatment plant sludge by liquid‐ion exchange. Sponsored by the AWWA Research Foundation, the study has shown promising results on a laboratory scale, indicating that the method is both technically and economically feasible. A prototype for plant‐scale testing is planned for 1979.
