Polarographic Determination of Nitrate Nitrogen in Water
This article discusses a study to simplify procedures as much as possible for the polarographic determination of nitrate nitrogen in water, to develop optimum reagent concentrations, to study possible interferences, and to compare results obtained by the polarographic method and by the ultraviolet absorption method on a series of routine samples. The method is based on the reduction of nitrate nitrogen at the dropping mercury electrode in slightly acid solution in the presence of uranyl ion.
