Destination Control System
The developed control system used dynamic optimization to minimize elevator journey times in possible elevator routes. In the beginning of the twenty‐first century, other elevator manufacturers launched their own implementations of the destination control systems (DCS). DCS principles as described in this chapter are called traditional DCS. Traditional DCSs, such as Fujitec Destination Reservation Guidance System, Hitachi Destination Floor Reservation System, KONE Polaris DCS, Mitsubishi Destination Oriented Allocation System, Otis Compass Plus, Schindler PORT system, and Thyssen Destination Selection Control, and others were launched. The hybrid DCS control takes advantage of both the DCS and the conventional control systems. On office floors, the ‘Harmonized’ dispatching signage is different to the one in the traditional DCS. In modernizing an elevator group with conventional control by a DCS, elevator circulation becomes faster and the number of waiting passengers at the elevator lobby decreases.
