Push‐Button Control Systems
In push‐button systems with electronic and digital control systems, elevators were able to memorize the given calls. The single‐button collective control system accepted many landing and car calls at the same time. In the down collective control, the control system memorizes all existing calls. Down collective control is efficient especially in residential buildings where the traffic is mostly two‐way, that is, from the ground, the inhabitants give car calls to their apartment floors, or from upper floors give hall calls to come down to the ground or basement floor. The elevator group control delivers the hall calls between the cars, and only one elevator stops for a given hall call. An elevator group handling a common set of hall calls becomes more efficient than the same number of single elevators with their own sets of hall calls.
