Intelligent machines are capable of imagining, and they do so by seeking a common denominator –unimaginable to the human mind except through lengthy interdisciplinary research–among the various verbal inputs entered into the prompt based on a gigantic database through a system of algorithms. Like the imagination, hybrids also works on the threshold of the possible. Hybrids are monsters in that they subvert taxonomies and are creators of new categories, through which the dimensions of custom and familiarity are violated. The ancient world was indeed populated with creatures on the borderline between human and animal. From about 1850 to 1925, a large number of artists, especially writers, imagined the workings of history, the interactions between the sexes, and the relation of man to a higher instance translated into a simple mechanics.
