The Effectiveness of Residential Water Conservation Measures
In the past, water engineers and planners had to rely on estimates of water use based mostly on laboratory tests of low‐flow fixtures. These estimates span a range of 300 percent, causing confusion and a general lack of confidence in water conservation techniques. With the completed US Department of Housing and Urban Development projects as a basis, water planners can now calculate the benefits of water conservation programs with more confidence that predicted savings will be realized.
