The Less Glamorous Side of the Water Industry…Where Most of the Dollars Will be Spent
This article discusses the future water needs and capital expenditure requirements that the water industry will be facing in the near future. The article suggests two methods for breaking down and segmenting this total capital expenditure need and states that over three quarters of the total spending will go into the nonglamorous and often overlooked infrastructure equipment side of the business. The article warns against too many utilities and cities taking a dangerously reactive approach to actually making these expenditures. The article states that infrastructure companies face a growing demand over the longer‐term future, and will experience future growth opportunities unparalleled in the broader water industry.
