Van Berkel welcomes a further integration of artificial intelligence with building information modeling, where circular use of the building can be simulated. UNStudio is interested in allowing its design work to follow the lead of disruptive technologies, increasingly based on human–computer interfaces, allowing people to be more immersively connected with the spaces they occupy. UNStudio is experimenting with smart building logics within their models. UNStudio ran a series of daylighting and circulation simulations in their model, which further guided design decisions and a local dialing of the mechanical system.
