A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
There is much going on internationally with AWWA and the Journal. Last October I had the opportunity to travel to India, where I witnessed the water trials faced in that country and how the AWWAIndia initiative was developing. It opened my eyes to just how much work remains to be done to bring 24/7 delivery of safe drinking water to the entire county. AWWAIndia recently held a training program on effective utility management and asset management in Mumbai, and more training events are planned to help transfer needed skills to the local level.
