Intelligent Tools for Wastewater Treatment Design
Wastewater treatment design involves identifying the sequence of environmentally acceptable technologies that need to be applied based on the influent concentrations of several contaminants in the wastewater. This paper proposes a set of tools including a learning system to extract knowledge‐based rules for treatment technologies, an optimization algorithm to obtain treatment trains, and a case‐based retrieval system to identify applicable environmental regulations.
