Alewife Problems at Waukegan Generating Station
This article discusses the problem of the alewife fish clogging the intake screens and unit condensers at a Waukegan (Illinois) generating station from 1961‐1964. It was discovered that the operation of the chlorinators was tied in with the plugging of the screens by dead alewife fish.
