Coupling of Stress‐Strain Behavior and Seepage Flow
The stress dependency of the permeability of jointed rock may have to be accounted for along with the design of dams, tunnels, slopes and in connection with the recovery of petroleum from underground storage.
The permeability of discontinuities as a function of normal and shear stress is described. Discrete and homogenous models and corresponding methods of analysis are summarized.
