US Water Supply Lessons Applicable to Developing Countries
This article retraces the history of community water supply development in the United States, in order to determine the means by which this advance has been effected and to measure the impact that this development has had upon public health and on society in general. The situations in two regions of the world, Central and South America and India, are presented to illustrate both the public health need and the deficiencies in community water service.
