No other material has intrigued or aroused the interest of water‐utility personnel as has plastic pipe and tubing. The variety of materials and the physical quantities of pipe used are growing at an increasing rate. The Standards Council in Jun. 1968 appointed a Standards Committee on plastic pipe with instructions to prepare AWWA Standards for plastic pipe and tubing.
