A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
In his column, AWWA Executive Director Jack Hoffbuhr discusses how technology “angst” influences how we perceive situations that are actually proven to be of no concern, but are blown out of proportion nonetheless because of our current bugaboo about technology. He sites the Y2K computer bug as an example and makes a correlation between how we reacted to that situation and how the same type of reaction could be used to provide impetus to an effort to replace the aging infrastructures of our country's water supply systems.
