US Green Building Council developed a series of application guides for the different types of buildings and building complexes. Earning any level of accreditation is an excellent achievement in creating an efficient and healthy building. Many of the building owners seek Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design certification not only for the benefits but also for marketing purposes. Productivity in business settings is increased with improved lighting and clean air circulation. As more buildings are being constructed worldwide, it is imperative that the energy and environmental impacts are minimized. One solution is to design buildings that produce as much energy as they consume. This refers to net‐zero energy buildings. The WELL Building Standard is the world's first architectural benchmark focused exclusively on human health and wellness to improve sustainability. The Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method was the first established method for assessing, rating, and certifying sustainable buildings have been launched in 1990.
