This chapter presents an account of author's job in Pittsburgh, San Francisco, and Alaska. It provides information on some of the projects in San Francisco, including a project for San Francisco Municipal Railway (MUNI), the transit agency for San Francisco. After the success of the MUNI project, the HOK office in San Francisco office began to win more local work and the firm's reputation strengthened as a San Francisco firm. Over the course of the study, HOK established a trusting relationship with the client. As a result, HOK received more commissions for projects, and the author was always on the project team as the dependable advisor to the client.
