As pressure increases to open protected municipal watersheds for public access and recreational development, a more complete understanding of the effects of watershed use on water quality becomes imperative. The data presented here detail the impact of limited watershed activities on four once‐protected water supply lakes near Halifax, N.S., and form a basis for assessing future changes in water quality resulting from further release of the watersheds.
