Upgrading to increase treatment capacity
The Manatee County (Fla.) utilities system undertook plant and laboratory studies prior to expanding their water treatment plant by 46 percent to meet peak demands in the most economical way. These studies resulted in the desired production increase as well as an estimated $2‐million savings in construction costs and an annual savings of about $10 000 in energy consumption.
