Assessment of Bromide in Three North Carolina Watersheds
Surface water was sampled upstream and downstream of several facilities to assess the bromide contributions from municipal and industrial wastewater discharges.
Bromide was discharged from a coal‐fired steam station and from at least one municipal wastewater treatment plant in each of the three watersheds evaluated.
Sources of bromide vary among different watersheds and are not limited by industry.
