Transparency and Accountability
As the public's appetite for previously unavailable information grows, utilities and their regulators need to respond accordingly. With increasing transparency there will be a commensurate increase in accountability, and the water industry must continuously reinforce a culture in which all members understand their responsibility for protecting the public's health and safety. All members of the water community need a voice in this area, but especially those on the front lines: namely, water and wastewater system operators.
