This chapter discusses how convergence consists of high conscientiousness, precision, persistence, critical sense, and sensitivity to the audience. Autodesk's structured brainstorming methodology for innovating, the Innovation Genome, helps illustrate both divergent and convergent thinking in the creative process to generate multiple ideas in a short period of time. The Architect brings to the activity that which the specialists cannot, sees the whole, and looks towards costs, utility, as well as aesthetics. A firm such as the Turner Prize‐winning interdisciplinary London‐based Assemble collective, working across the disciplines of art, architecture, and design, is able in their work to bridge the divide between the practical and ineffable. A resilient structural scaffold forms the core of each LASG installation. This illustration details individual chevrons that are assembled into flexible diagrid scaffolding systems. Chevron units act as a basic building block from which a diverse set of resilient structures form. Chevrons provide force‐shedding qualities, allowing elements under stress to transfer weight to neighboring supports in chained responses.
