Floors and Ceilings
Floors and ceilings can be looked at in a very similar sense and in some cases are one and the same. When considering the graphics associated with floors and ceilings, the most important aspect is to create them so they accurately represent the assemblies being used in the project. Materials drive the appearance and behavior of floors and ceilings the same way they do with walls and roofs. Visually, the most important aspect of a ceiling or floor is the exposed surface layer, as it carries graphic relevance in rendered and three‐dimensional views. The ceiling tools in most building information modeling systems do not allow for the control of different types of grids and panels using traditional ceiling tools. Rather than modeling them graphically, each type of panel has its own material assigned to it, and the material uses an image file to generate the rendered appearance.
