Road Bridge “Wild”: Application of the UHPFRC Precast Segmental Construction Method for an Arch Structure
With the pilot project "Road Bridge – Wild" – a first major ultra high performance fiber‐reinforced concrete (UHPFRC) bridge in Austria – the UHPFRC precast segmental construction method is applied. Current codes and guidelines do not cover the application of UHPFRC in Austria. Therefore full‐scale tests, many other tests for local response and numerical investigations were conducted for a safe realisation. This chapter describes the design and construction, scientific investigations and at last the experiences gained during the production and erection process, giving important inference for further research.
