The 40th anniversary of the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA) is on Dec. 16, 2014, and so far it's been a tough anniversary year for the drinking water community. From my point of view, the impacts on the drinking water community from several significant incidents in 2014 have ranged from heightened alertness and increased monitoring to do‐not‐drink and do‐not‐use orders for their customers. Roberson lists six significant drinking water incidents in 2014.
