Automated Safety Monitoring and Diagnosis System for Unstable Slopes
This research focuses on developing an automated safety monitoring and instability origin detection system for hillside areas. Factors that affect slope stability are considered and analyzed using multivariate analysis. Within this system, the checklist used by personnel or instrument monitoring is adapted for collecting hillside data. Applying the fuzzy set theory, the system analyzes collected data and identifies possible causes of adverse conditions requiring additional attention. Using this research, instrumentation programs are able not only to fill gaps of design insufficiency, but also to provide needed safeguards, pointing to any adverse effects of hillside development. Furthermore, compared with the manual methods, this system significantly improves computational efficiency and increases accuracy and consistency of currently used data.
