Microbiological Characterization of Granular Activated Carbon Filter Systems
The data presented here indicate that bacterial populations adhere to and accumulate on GAC filters during water filtration. This buildup may lead to the potential buildup of toxic products that could flush through the filter when the filter capacity is reached.
