Acoustical Properties of Hemp Concretes
This chapter discusses the properties of hemp concretes from an acoustical point of view. First, the chapter gives an overview of the mechanisms of control of the acoustical properties of hemp concretes. Second, the chapter illustrates the technique for modeling this material by means of a number of examples. In the case of hemp shiv, the chapter draws the connection between the acoustical parameters and the fundamental characteristics of the particles (particle size distribution (PSD), intra‐particle porosity, apparent density) and the arrangement of the granular mixture (orientation of the particles, inter‐particle porosity).
