A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
This article discusses unusual cases of copper corrosion. The article begins by providing a brief overview of the formation of a normal film on copper surfaces that are exposed to potable water, and of the process of general copper corrosion. Impingement attack is discussed, along with pitting attack in cold water lines, sprinkler systems, domestic service lines, and in hot water lines. Other causes of pitting are discussed.
