Field Test for Analysis of Anionic Detergents in Well Waters
The problem of detergents found in well water has created a demand for analysis of large numbers of samples, but the current analytical methods are complex and time consuming. This study was initiated to develop a simple, accurate test which could be used both in the field and in the laboratory. The Michigan Department of Health (MDH) method, as described in this article, was tested on 543 well water samples, and the results are compared to those obtained with a standard reference procedure.
