Bacteria in an Impounding Reservoir
This article presents data from assays for coliform organisms and from direct counting of all bacterial cells in water samples taken above and below the Green Lane impounding reservoir, built and operated by the Philadelphia Suburban Water Company. The results of direct counts of all bacterial species indicate an actual enrichment of the water with bacterial cells in passage through the impoundment during this period.
