A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
In July this column addressed the critical issue of making sure water and wastewater services remain affordable for all water customers ‐ not just the top half of earners. Since then several readers have sent comments to me about this important subject. One in particular caught my attention and contained a link to a Nov.13, 2009, electronic article from SlashFood.com titled “Meet the World's Water Sommelier.” The article focused on a man named Michael Mascha who gave up being a wine sommelier to become equally enthusiastic about water and its subtle and distinct differences. As a point of clarification, remember I am a tap water enthusiast. This is not a column about the virtues of bottled water, and the above‐referenced article has done nothing to alter my relationship with tap water.
