A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
Developing a Conservation Management Plan
The Conservation Management Plan (CMP) has become the standard way to assess heritage assets including landscapes, yet methods vary and many different documents result. The author argues that a CMP should tell a compelling story but be realistic and succinct if it is to become a practical tool for managing change in a landscape over the long term. The chapter discusses the purpose of a CMP, the presentation of material, the range of research, survey and analysis required, defining significance and issues, conservation policies and how these inform a practical management action plan.
