Land Subsidence in Pleasant Valley Area, Fresno County, Calif.
This article discusses land subsidence recently analyzed by the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation in Pleasant Valley, California and vicinity. The studies were conducted in connection with the forthcoming construction of the Pleasant Valley Canal and possible development of the Pleasant Valley distribution system as features of the giant $600,000,000 San Luis unit of the Central Valley Project. The nearly completed unit was designed and constructed by the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation as part of a federal‐ state water development.
