Industry's Concern With Off‐the‐Job Safety
This article discusses the problem of off‐the‐job accidents as a factor in efficient operations of U.S. corporations. The article briefly outlines some of the reasons for an off‐the‐job safety effort and describes the program of two major companies. Topics covered include: statistical estimate of accidents; application of employee safety programs; causes of off‐duty accidents; safety principles; reasons for off‐duty hazards; industry concern; programs in effect; and, company objectives.
