The Role of Residuals Disposal Laws in Treatment Plant Design
A complex network of federal, state, and local laws governs the management, transport, disposal, and recycling of the wastes generated by water treatment plants. Those laws influence the siting, selection, and design of treatment systems. Water utility managers must systematically evaluate all regulations so they can make rational and cost‐effective decisions regarding renovation of existing facilities or addition of new facilities.
