WaterTech Help Sought for Peru
The article in the October 1989 JOURNAL describing the proposed WaterTech USA program adequately described the water supply and sanitation problems of developing countries such as the author's (Peru). In Peru less than 10 percent of the rural and near‐rural populations has access to potable water. In large cities virtually all collection, treatment, and distribution systems are in bad condition. In making decisions on where to devote WaterTech resources, the author asks that South America be considered a priority and to start by helping Peru.
