Trip‐I‐Plan: A Mobile Application for Task Scheduling in Smart City's Sustainable Infrastructure
In recent years, smart city concept focusing towards tourism industry is highly boosted by a variety of information & communication technology (ICT). Commercially, there exists a wide range of mobile applications available for end users to plan their travel itinerary. However, there are several gaps in existing mobile applications like, not adaptable to every city's sustainable infrastructure, confined method of trip booking, only static trip tasks scheduling is possible, and lack of dynamic geo‐location‐based task rescheduling. In this chapter, firstly, the smart city concept, various applications of smart city intervened by IoT, mobile computing technologies are addressed. The primary focus is to explore the smart tourism application under smart city concept. Secondly, the mobile application based approach and its various opportunities to enhance the growth of smart city's citizen planning and boosting the growth of smart sustainable infrastructure through smart tourism is explored. Here, the comparative study of exiting trip planner mobile application of task scheduling towards smart tourism is presented. Finally, to overcome several existing disadvantages of trip planner mobile application, a comprehensive, automatically task rescheduling for mobile application is proposed.
