Making environment statistics useful: a Third World perspective
10.1002/env.747.abs
On a background of the growth of environmental awareness in developing countries, the data situation is briefly discussed, and the development of environment statistics is traced. It is argued that these statistics must be seen to be useful, and that vital steps to achieve this is through detailed analysis of environmental policies, training in environmental subjects and increased dialogue between users and producers.
