Operator Training
Approximately 76 percent of the states now provide some program of operator training for water utility employees, but only about 30 percent of the states have legislated any required training program. The biggest problem is that no standards or uniformity exist for the training of water utility operators. This in turn creates problems with certification and the reciprocity of that certification from state to state. The components of an effective training program are discussed.
