WATER‐CAPACITY PLANNING FOR METROPOLITAN AREAS
Creation of many small local districts has complicated and served to postpone area‐wide solutions to water‐resource management. Although the data in this article are specific to the Monroe County, N.Y., area, the proposals are not limited in scope of application. The information herein suggests that, in general, consolidation of water‐storage and ‐distribution facilities can bring a net benefit to regional users that amounts to millions of dollars.
