Garden archaeology
Archaeological investigation, ranging from desktop studies using aerial photographs, historical maps and other records, through analytical fieldwork and non‐intrusive geophysical surveys to detailed excavation, is an important means to trace the evolution and significant features of historic parks and gardens. The results can be used as the basis for accurate reconstruction in addition to informing conservation management plans and policies.
