In Demir Kapija, a 25 meters high reinforced earth® wall supports the Corridor X
Reinforced Earth® structures combine select and controlled granular backfill with tensile reinforcements and a modular facing system. This ideal combination creates a long‐lasting gravity retaining structure. For more than 50 years, it gives solutions to civil engineering actors for infrastructure, mining, hydraulic and protective applications. On the Pan‐European corridor X, close to Demir Kapija, a major retaining structure reaching 25 m height was built, using Reinforced Earth® solution as an alternative to the access viaduct of the Bridge B2.
